The fight was on. With only 8# test line, the powerful snook has an excellent advantage and will escape most fishermen. But the finesse and experience of Dr. Bob Lavey and Action Belize master guide Martin Merrit were too much for this fighter to escape. The first try at netting left a huge hole in the net and this prize catch heading for the mangroves. But once again the fish would be gently persuaded back to the boat, now having to work the line through the hole in the catch net. Martin tackling the fish was not about to let him make another run. Congratulations to Dr. Lavey and Martin for scoring this catch into the IGFA World Record Book!! This record is now officially certified by the INTERNATIONAL GAME FISH ASSOCIATION.
